THE MECCA AT GROVE HALL, in Roxbury, Massachusetts,  is a model for new, urban development in the city of Boston.  It was a true partnership with the City of Boston and surrounding abutters with Samuels & Associates as the developer.  The introduction of this $13 million center has spurred new development up and down the Blue Hill Avenue corridor by bringing quality, national retailers like Stop & Shop and CVS into the neighborhood.  As designated area of the City of Boston's "Main Streets Foundation," the Mecca at Grove Hall has had a positive impact on local residents by increasing accessibility to national chains, creating job opportunities and reviving a neighborhood from "urban blight."
